Deer Creek Music Center opened in 1989 among corn and soybean fields on the outskirts of Indianapolis. In 2001 the venue name was changed to Verizon Wireless Music Center, and the lawn was expanded to hold an extra 4,000 spectators. In April of 2003 the venue was annexed into the city limits of Noblesville, IN.
