Matthews (1996)

This powerful ballad was around since the very beginning where it featured Dave Solo to start out and then the band joining in. It was finally recorded in the studio and released on the "Crash" album; heavily produced and electrified. Its most popular runs were the fall of 1994, the encore features on the Dave and Tim '96 tour. After 1996, the song dropped off into a rarity and was the rarest song on the Summer '97 tour. After being completely missing in action in 1998, the song experienced a small revival in '99, but then dropped off in 2000 and 2001. However, as teases in the Spring 2002 tour showed, the song was surely not dead. It returned as a Dave solo in the Summer Tour, and full on in 2003.
