It is about the drug addiction of the late Crazy Horse guitarist Danny Whitten and was released on Young's 1972 Harvest. The version released on the album is a live recording from January 30, 1971 at Royce Hall on the campus of UCLA.Subsequently it was played sporadically at Dave solo, Dave & Tim and full band shows throughout 2010, though always Dave solo with the exception of 6.5.10 where Carter joined with some light shaker accompaniment. Most versions took place in the encore of shows.
