Description
Ford Amphitheatre was built by Clear Channel Communications at a cost of $23 million. The pavilion roof consists of 95,000 sq. ft. (or 2.2 acre) of NASA designed, translucent fabric membrane stretched over an arched galvanized steel truss superstructure. Michael W. Smith & MercyMe with David Crowder Band were the first official performances at Ford Amphitheatre on July 23, 2004. DMB performed the following week on their 2004 summer tour, the first show to go on-sale and the first show to sell out for this venue. The amphitheatre consists of 9,500 reserved seats and 10,500 capacity in the lawn. In 2010, the venue's sponsorship was picked up by 1-800-ASK-GARY, creating one of the more awkward corporate venue names in the country. 4802 US Highway 301 N.
