DMB + Phish
Phish had already been active for about eight years by the time DMB played its first gig in 1991, but their paths began to cross almost immediately, with Phish playing DMB's home venues, Trax and the Flood Zone, a handful of times from 1990—92. While we don't know when the bands actually first met, it stands to reason that they were at least aware of each other before their first performance together at the 1993 Ritz Power Jam.

Over the years, members of DMB have sat in with Phish and/or Trey Anastasio Band several times, and Trey has sat in with DMB and Dave & Tim several times. In 2003, Trey participated in recording Dave's solo album, Some Devil, and he joined the Dave Matthews & Friends tour in support of it. After that tour, guest appearances became more rare, with none from 2008—17; however, Dave and Trey seem to have remembered each other at an island/hurricane relief concert in 2018 as they have played together several times over the last few years.

Below is a list of all the times members of DMB or Phish have performed with each other, as well as other notable events in these two bands' shared history. In the Notes column, we have tried to include the reason for their paths' crossing. Please note that as Trey was a member of Dave Matthews & Friends, we have not listed individual song performances for those shows.
