Description
DMB's home away from home in the early nineties, the Flood Zone was located at 11 S. 18th St., between E. Main and E. Cary.

A few years after DMB outgrew the club, it lost its ABC license due multiple violations as well as a member of the band GWAR getting naked on stage. Although the Flood Zone re-opened for a while after this incident, it never fully recovered and finally closed in 1997. A different club, called Have a Nice Day Cafe, opened in the same building several years later, but it was primarily a dance club, not a music venue. It closed in the 2010s due to numerous fights and shootings, and the building has now been converted into loft condominiums.
