Boyd was originally brought in to play on the Tripping Billies demo, but after he ended up guesting at a vast majority of the band's early shows, he was added as the sixth official member of Dave Matthews Band. Boyd Tinsley Band played its last show on April 30, 1992, and we consider Boyd a member of DMB after that date.
