Dave sings Stairway to Heaven?

sctm@vt.edu Tue Nov 29 22:48:05 1994

in the middle of an encore of All Along The Watchtower he begins to sing the
lyrics to Stairway to Heaven, it's sound good. It fits quite well into
Dave's version of Watchtower. Does he do this often? I have never heard it
before. If anybody has any Dave songs with other cover tunes mingled in, I
would love to hear about it. Whoever was thinking about putting a rare
tunes tape together, I think it's a great idea, I would personally love to
hear Tangerine, Redemption Song, Sweet Home, and a good version of
Exodus. The only tape I heard with Exodus on it sucked. I didn't really
like the way they did it, but that was due partly to a really crappy tape.
But if you have any of those covers and want to trade, I have a bunch of
good stuff!
one definately not. I'm still searching for a good artist, and info on how
to figure out prices, etc... If you know any good artists, or have any
other info, my ears are open! Have fun kids, and what the hell was that
circumsion deal?

NYE Show

allgood@umich.edu Tue Nov 29 23:06:49 1994

Hey, it's about that time of year where we should all make a list of the
people going to the NYE show. My two buddies and I are driving up from
Michigan on the 27th, seeing DMB on the 30th and the 31st, we all have
tickets and we plan on have a gran' ole' time. We are staying at the
Mariott on the 31st, probably along with everyone else. The other nights
we will be in Vienna, Virginia, staying with our friend. If everyone
wants to do something or something kinda cool, then write to the whole
net. Other than that, I'll addd our names to the list and hope that this
will continue.
It's not as if this is incredibly necessary, but, since we are traveling
a long way, I thought it would be cool to see some of the faces to some
of the names. Or, whatever!!!!
Well, I hope this starts an interesting trend.

A Newbie Offer!!!!

axvann@minerva.cis.yale.edu Tue Nov 29 23:10:23 1994

Yay! After I finish the week, I should be done spinning tapes, so...

Time for another newbie offer from your newbie- friendly friend, who is
still waiting for some of that good karma from his last newbie offer.

This one's a winner too. I've got two pristine copies of 9-1-92 Trax to
offer, thanks to Wade. What was the source/gen on that anyway, Wade?
Sounds fantastic.
Show features a Tangerine intro into Lie in Our Graves, and other good
stuff from the early days.
Best part- It's free! At least the tapes are. You'll have to send me a
check for $1.50 for postage, I suppose. I may even bypass that if I'm
feeling saucy. Just got my Max Points redeemed, you know. Blank tapes
cluttering my room.
OK- here's the deal. The first two newbies to email me with, um...
since I'm so immersed in my schoolwork this week, we'll make it work-
related rather than DMB related.
Tell me what H.P.S.C.I. stands for, and the tapes are yours.
TAPELESS PERSONS ONLY PLEASE! Don't lie. Not 5 tapes or less. No tapes.
Got it?
OK. That's all.
Laura- Haven't seen you around. Write me a nice message or something :)
If you go to W&L give Alissa Walls a big hug from Adam and Jen.

'I'm drunk, and right now I'm so in love with you..'

cbuford@liberty.uc.wlu.edu Wed Nov 30 02:28:06 1994

mltiple points...

1)from the good response on the rarities tape, I will work hard on
compiling my best and most random versions of dave tunes on a 90 min
tape, and I will tree and or post when I've got it done...

2)Edwin McCain is the shit...I (sorry Clare forgot to tell you) had the
pleasure of seeing them this evening at Hollins and it was kick ass. Get
this. No taping because the sbaord was shity and I needed a 1/4 inch
headphone jack converter to rca cable to tape. BUT I was told the tapes
came out crappy anyway and the sound guy gave me 2 90 MIN soundboard
tapes from gainsville (ohio?) for FREE cuz I just asked about taping. He
said that they were done with em and I could have em. Kinda cool as shit,
they wanted me to be able to tape, but since I couldn' he gave me free
cool tapes, and free stickers....
Hung out at Carters girlfriends apt....she tossed in UTTAD and was a cool
girl.....

3)listen to UTTAD on headphones or a nice stereo. Nine inch Nail fans
(Clare) will aprreciate this, but IMHO Dave should be given mucho credit
where due in the studio. Listen to Satellite (yes I said it) and listen
for TIm Reynolds backup acoustic guitar....

4)Edwin just said "go listen to a band you have never heard of, and keep
us from eating at Taco Bell, we play for you, and you will something or
other.. I forget already...nicest sound guy I ever met (except Bagby,
whom I've never formally met). The bass player does sound, and has a
wireless, and soundchecks while he is at the board, PLAYING!! kinda cool!!

5)again UTTAD (for mucho tape people) should and will be appreciated for
the COOL ASS SHIT they do in the studio...

6)I have to cd single of the petty tune in question, from my radio job,
and will listen to the radi and "alternate" version and psot my thoughts
on it latr....

7)once i review my inbox, I will have forgotten things to say...

The DMBrarities Box Set tape I will be out soon as a offer, for anyone, I
dont care what you got...anyways....

Building collection

drcraver@mailbox.syr.edu Wed Nov 30 09:09:54 1994

This is in response to the post about being a little disgrunted over
letting sisters and friends copy all thier boots for free.
Maybe only because I'm a newbie trying to build a collection the hard
way I can relate, but I do.
Lets all remember that the music is basically free. I'll tape for anyone
providing raw materials as long as I have the time and equipment.
I have done this with boots of old NYHC bands(anyone interested, I think
I'm beginning to mellow in my age)

Anywho, use DMB for lasting engine protection and reducing viscocity
breakdown,

Newbie wackiness.

axvann@minerva.cis.yale.edu Wed Nov 30 09:48:13 1994

Well, we're quite a creative, if somewhat offbeat bunch of folks.
I must close my newbie offer. Sorry.
I take one random factoid from the material I happen to be studying and
post it on the net as a trivia question. Next thing you now, I get all
sorts of creative, if incorrect, responses.
So here's what I'll do. I've got about seven responses. The two most
creative or humorous get the tapes free. The other five have to send me
blanks. NOBODY else respond.
I'm thinking of not granting the newbie request to the person with the
.mil address that didn't know that HPSCI is the House Permanent Select
Committee on Intelligence. You should be ashamed of yourself ;)
I'll be in touch with everyone who made the list. Give Wade a big thank you!

my last past included a tape offer at the end, and i just want to emphasize
that that offer is open _only_ to people who are digestified, meaning
that you just got a big message from minarets entitled "minarets digest

Cha's idea of the davetalk tape made me think of other possibilities, esp
since I am too lazy to compile something that would take so long.
I am thinking of making a dave rare tunes tape, like the first inceptions
of songs and such. ie Heathcliff's, granny solo from 11/17/92, any noise
from 7-14-93 (my favorite), say goodbye solo from HSC or Blacksburg. and
other stuff like the beautiful dave/peter cry freedom 11/17/92 and the
truckers cb coming through stephan's amp during Back You Up (7/14 i
think). Stuff like tangerine and sweet home alabama and nature and me and
julio and tripping billies with only boyd and dave and seek up solo and....
the possibilities are endless (isn't that some ad?) anyways, more brain
 babble for ya.....

P.S. Chardy, you HAVE to put the afore mentioned "tongue in my butt"
davespeak from 7-14, its the funniest thing I have ever heard. I know you
have it, I saw you tape it....

peace to all and to all a good nite...

buford and blake we're having a little discussion about any-noise's first
debut. i mistakenly told blake that dave played it on 6.22.93, but i have
it as filler on that show, from the 7.27.93 show.

so i'm going to venture to concur with dear mr.kiss-and-make-up that
7.7..93 was the first time any noise was played. dave prefaces the song
by saying something like... 'this song is about making noise.... [singing
to his strumming] any noise... any noise....' hence... the title. heh.

This is Mike from colorado.....i'd have to say that DMB kicks ass when they
play with the Samples...especially when they opened for them last january
at the Snowmass Conference Center....but, the best show i've seen them play,
though i haven't seen them that often, would be when they rocked Vail last
September with the Freddy Jones Band and Jackopierce....anyhow, who knows
how i could hook up with some live recordings of DMB, especially of their
newer songs from "Under the Table and Dreaming"??? Just wanted to know,

Leroi's tour drink of choice could be Orange Juice. At least that is
what he wanted when I saw them play a 6 song acoustic set at a music
store a couple of months ago.

The band was 2 and half hours late, and seemed pretty tired. They played
without any amplification except Dave's voice and guitar and Carter kind
 of "beat-boxing" into a mike.
Home (Dave Only), Tripping Billies, and probably another one or two, but
 it was a while ago.

When the managers brought in pizzas (there is a pizza place downstairs),
Dave threw out his favorite line about CHEESE. And then in front of a
sold-out crowd at the House of Blues, he used it AGAIN. Hmm... Maybe it
is a campaign against dairy products.

I posted this question once before a couple of weeks ago and didn't
get any responses from anyone, and damn it, I know someone knows the
answer!!!... Unfortunately I don't have the funds to offer free tapes and
such if someone responds but I'm always willing to make copies for people...
  Anyway, to the point...

I have a copy of the Williams College show, 12/11/93, and the opening song
is labeled "Route 2"... My friend has the same tape and his opener is
labeled "Walking"... I haven't heard or seen this song on any other bagby,
  anybody know anything about it?

  Mucho gracias....
                                  Fred House

I thought I responded last time. Anyway, here goes again -
we had a discussion about this a while back. Seems Route 2 was written by
Dave while the band was lost in a Massachusetts snowstorm and late to
arrive to the show (see the lyrics and this will make sense). Because the
band was late, the tune sort of served as a soundcheck. To my knowledge,
it's never been played again. Too bad, if you ask me. Some work and it
could be something interesting. Eventually. For now it's just a nice rarity.

Maybe this should go in the FAQ. Along with an explanation of Blue Water.
I've answered questions on these two songs several times.

No newbie offer yet. I'm trying to be creative.

sorry victor.. i'll have to greatly disagree on teh orange juice

i know this from personal experiences, and many glasses of said liqour

let me take this opportunity to say let's not turn this thread into
a discussion on whether you should get stoned at a dmb show or not.
that's about as moot as discussing on this net why my university's
president keeps deciding to put campus flower pots ahead of student

here's my take on the eMpTyVee thing-o-morama....

government has nothing to do with it. i would ask you, chardy, to
prove that statement. our government may be big, but it's not big
enough to put a restriction on drug references on a cable tv station
without being discovered so fast you don't have time to hide your
 roach.

 i think it's a doo-gooder holier-than-thou effort by an elitist organization
to think that they are having an effect on a particularly politically
volatile issue. there's no denying that eMpTy Vee as a corporation takes
the "just say no" stance, even though i highly suspect that this makes a
substantial number of the decision makers there hypocrites (imagine that).

eMpTy Vee is simply trying to redeem their obvious lack of social value by
 espousing a drug free mentality.

I have a tape of the Montreal, Club Soda show dated 10.5.94, and
in the middle of an encore of All Along The Watchtower he begins to sing the
lyrics to Stairway to Heaven, it's sound good.
But if you have any of those covers and want to trade, I have a bunch of
 good stuff!

Write me a nice message or something :)

 mltiple points...

1a) send enuff money to cover a return envelope and
postage.(most likely $3 or $4). ** if you choose this

the package you send me! **

           2) include one 100 minute Type II tape.
(maxell XL II, TDK SA 90 or anything that says POSITION II)

Tom's joint is also bleeped on mtv, though. what a pity.

last week. But, then again, the college station here played rhyme & reason
in the middle of the night, the other night, and edited out the whole line
"needle to the vein...". Nothing but dead air. Talk about things to make
you vomit. I'm not really sure what they were playing that song for anyway --

Sorry, but isn't this the Dave Matthews Band net? 'Cause i sware i saw an
advertisement for Jack-o-something. This is not a billboard for other bands. Be
discreat about it, please. 'Cause f it starts with a few, more and moe are
going to do it. When it RAIN'S it pours. I hope any Jack-o-something fans get
 that really bad pun. Bothered,
"The Chaud from out of the light"

I agree that we should focus on Dave Matthews Band in this server, but I learned
about a lot of new bands just by listening in on this kind of stuff. If it
pours, all the better for people who share an interest in Dave to find out
what their fellow minareters find interesting outside the world of Dave. I
personally would rather hear it from people who listen to Dave than from
anyone else.

Peace,
Matt

Rare Dave/Band Symbol

hauser@server.chem.ufl.edu Wed Nov 30 17:01:37 1994

Now can somebody make it happen and tree it? On the Spin Doctors Net, some
brave soul compiled a tape of unreleased tunes and treed it--called it
the Gems tape. Very, very cool...

I mean the Dead has the dancing bears and the Stealyourface (sp?), BT has the
black cat, the Stones have the Lips, etc. how 'bout something cool for DMB?
Suggestions? We could invent something that would one day be on tons
of bumperstickers and get all the credit...Just a-wondering

Under the table and lurking,

Hi my name is Sandra and i just got added to this superhighway list...
Feeling quite popular getting 40 messages a day but only understanding a
few...

My question to you in Colorado concerns the bootlegs you have taped.
Are they from the Fox shows Thurs, Fri and Saturday in Boulder?

I was there Thur and Sat and thought they rocked, specially the first nite.
Another message just got intertwined with this one but i hope it all
comes thru anyway. I was wondering if I can send you blank tapes for
copies???

Or if you like, I have two excellent quality tapes of DMB from summer of
1993, one at the BAYOU and one from elsewhere. Ill be happy to exchange
withyou...

So, fellow DMB fan please reply per emaiail? whenever you get a moment?

Which school of Mines are you at?

Thanks
Peace Up!\

Does anybody know the status of tickets at the shows in Atlanta

Can anybody tell me how to undigestify this thing?

Three (not technically a question):

I'm going to NYE, and I don't remember seeing anything about
anybody taking names of netters going, but I'm one...but I'm
going by myself (all of my friends have spent their $50 on weed),
so I guess I have some new friends to make in about a month.

Thanks for any info,

C'mon Ben...#1 is easy "Lon is the sugardaddy of the universe.
Lon..(pause)...is on sound tonight. (Drive in Drive out)

 Doesn't everyone have Floodzone 7-8-92?

Hmm. I guess it looks like it. What a nice tape though.

                                                 Doug

But unfortunately Doug you were NOT the first person to get this right . .
.

Kudos to wade for getting it, and for informing me that Lon did not
remain the sugardaddy of the universe for very long. Thus paving the way
for our man bagby.

Kudos also to jonathan (jonatha687@aol.com) for getting it.

Of course, no one has answered the hard question.

I'll tell you what, I'll make a copy of the DMB from that night (the
night when Rusted Root and From Good Homes were also both on the bill)
for the first one to get this date correct.

REALLY add to the already melodic sound of the Samples? Damn, i wish

For those of you out there who smoke, i'm sorry, but i don't.
However, for those of you who enjoy chewing tobacco, dip, chew, etc.,
then i say we have a universal chew at, oh, say 10 pm tonight, while

Anyone out there like the movie "Reservoir Dogs"? Just wondering.

So, peace to all....i'll be sharing a buzz with those tobacco folk around

Dec 16 -- Houston, (someplace called Rockadelphia I think)
Dec 17 -- Dallas, at Trees.

None are sold out as far as I know (not that many out there are within
driving distance!). When I bought my tickets for the Austin show they had
only sold 70 out of about 700. Could be like the old Traxx days!

If anyone does happen to be at any of these shows, look for me. I'm the short

It would seem that DMB's symbol would be the "firedancer" that can be

3)listen to UTTAD on headphones or a nice stereo. Nine inch Nail fans
(Clare) will aprreciate this, but IMHO Dave should be given mucho credit
where due in the studio. Listen to Satellite (yes I said it) and listen
for TIm Reynolds backup acoustic guitar....

5)again UTTAD (for mucho tape people) should and will be appreciated for
the COOL ASS SHIT they do in the studio...

hear, hear. (here, here? heer, heer. haha)

satellit either
a)cranked
b)with headphones
c)falling asleep
d)any combination of the three.

believe it or not, if you are a person who doesn't like this song,
you will be amazed at the subtleties of this studio version and just
how imperative it was that dave shared it with us.

done so far.

something i discovered as i drifted off into never never land last
night was that #34 is absolutely the largest song i have ever heard in
my life. you know how songs paint images in your mind? well, as
i was listening to #34, i felt like i was walking through a HUGE room that
was it's own art presentation. like someone (dave) painted this beautiful
place in my mind.
most songs are linear. #34 is holistic. it draws you in and makes
you look at it from the inside out, and it is truly the most beautiful
thing in the world. even you enjoy myself has never filled me so full
of emotion. wow.

upcoming Zoo People tour

cokin@scf.usc.edu Wed Nov 30 23:02:13 1994

3rd Santa Monica, CA Fair City 11 pm
8th San Francisco, CA Great Amercian Music Hall 8 pm
9th Santa Cruz, CA Live Soup 8 pm
10th Santa Barbara, CA Alex's 9 pm

Also, they are opening for the Dave Matthews Band at some show in Arizona. I
forget the exact city/date.

Those on Horde and Jambay net's have probably heard about the Zoo People by
now, but for those on Minarets, here's a little info. They're from Venice,
CA, and they gig regularly in the Venice, Santa Monica, and Hollywood areas.
They have 2 guitarists, a keyboardist (Hammond B-3, Rhodes), bass and drums.
Frequently a sax player (or 2) and a percussionist will sit in. Their music
is sorta 70's-ish. Kinda Allmansy, with the dueling guitars and keys thing.
You will find the lead guitarist at many a Phish and Dead show, but his main
influence is Clapton. They have a lot of originals, and play some covers too.
They're first independant CD will be out any week now.

For more info, you can call their hotline at (310)772-8129. And those crazy
folks at Rock.net just started a mailing for them, write to
zoo-people-request@rock.net to subscribe.

Check 'em out.

Your tickets would be worth what you paid for them . I believe it was
52.50 for mail or 51.00 at somewhere like plan 9.
Perhaps someone could throw in a few tapes for your trouble.

Please do not sell the tickets for more than you paid for them.

She'll be with me when I buy tickets. So can anyone help me prepare for this

a tad early to ask, but does anyone know that they will, or might possibly, be
taping that show? This is one of those once-in-a-lifetime shows that everyone
must possess. Oh, Oh, Oh!!! For all of you who do NOT recieve the digest, I
MUST tell you that "Shaft" is on TNT today at 2:00pm. I don't think it's the
original movie (it couild be the TV show or one of the sequels) but for all of

here's my take on the eMpTyVee thing-o-morama....

government has nothing to do with it. i would ask you, chardy, to
prove that statement. our government may be big, but it's not big
enough to put a restriction on drug references on a cable tv station
without being discovered so fast you don't have time to hide your
 roach.

 i think it's a doo-gooder holier-than-thou effort by an elitist organization
to think that they are having an effect on a particularly politically
volatile issue. there's no denying that eMpTy Vee as a corporation takes
the "just say no" stance, even though i highly suspect that this makes a
substantial number of the decision makers there hypocrites (imagine that).

eMpTy Vee is simply trying to redeem their obvious lack of social value by
 espousing a drug free mentality.

go ahead and forward the whole damn thing to me. there's a good chance

I have a tape of the Montreal, Club Soda show dated 10.5.94, and
in the middle of an encore of All Along The Watchtower he begins to sing the
lyrics to Stairway to Heaven, it's sound good.
But if you have any of those covers and want to trade, I have a bunch of
 good stuff!
The T-shirt count is now 51 in favor of making, and 3 maybe's and
one definately not. I'm still searching for a good artist, and info on how
to figure out prices, etc... If you know any good artists, or have any
other info, my ears are open! Have fun kids, and what the hell was that
 circumsion deal?

If you go to W&L give Alissa Walls a big hug from Adam and Jen.

 mltiple points...

When exchanging lists w/ a newbie and nothing catches eye, have send
blanks, postage, and IOU in future.
I have done this with boots of old NYHC bands(anyone interested, I think
I'm beginning to mellow in my age)

I must close my newbie offer. Sorry.
I take one random factoid from the material I happen to be studying and
post it on the net as a trivia question. Next thing you now, I get all
sorts of creative, if incorrect, responses.
So here's what I'll do. I've got about seven responses. The two most
creative or humorous get the tapes free. The other five have to send me
 blanks. NOBODY else respond.
I'm thinking of not granting the newbie request to the person with the

soft rasty things

hello...okay, i have a few questions...what the hell is a newbie and would i
be considered one...i have no dmb tapes, i have seen dmb three times, i have
both albums...i got into them last year and i have only been on the
newbie?...i tried to get on a newbie offer yesterday and felt guilty, because

i was wondering also if anybody has any stories (see, you thought i was going
to type "tapes", didntcha?) of personal encounters with dmb members...if you
don't mind i will tell you mine...keith, i know you and mom have already heard
this story eight trillion times...i'm gonna tell it anyway :)...

Alabama here in Tuscaloosa...it was the day before the first day of class and
i heard that there would be a seven-band concert within walking distance, a
sort of "Welcome Back To Higher Learning" kind of thing...so i went without
knowing who would be playing or anything...
almost nobody was there...a local band was playing...i went to a total stranger
and asked who would be playing...he rattled off a bunch of bands that i didn't
know and ended with "...and the Dave Matthews Band." and he smiled...i thought
that these bands, including dmb, were just cheesy local bands and didn't think
much about it...remember, folks, i was new :)...
paid for a ticket ($7, can you believe it!) so i would just lay on the grass
and stare at the sky for a while...so i did...
looking about and a crowd is gathering...all of the sudden, or at least it
*seemed* that way, this tall guy wearing a funny shirt and baggy plaid pants
ambles over with his friend...his friend was wearing a leather vest and little
round glasses...they looked at me and i looked at them...they laid down next to
me on the grass and we just stared at the sky together...not a word was
spoken...hell, i didn't know who these guys were, what the hell was i supposed
to say, you know?...
stage...these two guys laying next to me just get up all of the sudden and move
towards the stage...i get up too, wondering what the hell was going on...five
minutes later, the dave matthews band is playing on stage!...i was just
sleeping with boyd and dave! and i have been converted ever since... =8-)

okay, that's my story...i would prefer it if you e-mailed the stories directly
to me...my address is jnichol1@ua1vm.ua.edu...thanks for your time...

Edwin McCain

sayat.1@postbox.acs.ohio-state.edu Thu Dec 1 14:47:46 1994

Sorry, this is old news, but I'm digestified. A couple of digests ago,
Chris Buford posted about the Edwin McCain Band. I saw Edwin McCain at the
Brown's Island show headlined by DMB back in August '94. He was fantastic.
The show was even more sweeter to find out that he was a substitute band to
fill in for another act that was sick or something. His disc is definitely
worth checking out. He's also supposed to come out with a new disc next year.
Anyway, this post is directed to Chris Buford. Boofy, I'm definitely
interested in your Edwin tapes. You should definitely tree them!

Peace out,
Jon

Considering myself an avid misic fan, seeing a favorite musician cover a
great song and adding their own touch is always a delight. If the tape
gets made where could I get a copy?

Info. on 12/30 and 2/14 for the Masses!

50OGLESBY@CUA.EDU Thu Dec 1 15:51:30 1994

hey now,
there have been a bunch of posts with incorrect info concerning the 12/30
show in d.c. it is at american university in the bender arena at 8 pm. get
your tickets now! i just got mine, and the operator said that she shows
only 50 tickets left fr the event. btw, it is a general admission show. on
another note, i just called the richmond ticketmaster phoneline, and tickets
for the famed 2/14 show go on sale this saturday morning at 10. it is at the
carpender center, and she said that it is billed only as DMB. does anyone
know if it is actually with the RSO? i hope that i have been of some
assistance to those out there in cyberspace. could anyone hook me up with
any dave/tim solo acoustic shows for blanks and postage. please don't frown
upon my grovel. thanks.

The Ultimate Band List

hauser@server.chem.ufl.edu Thu Dec 1 16:39:10 1994

Hey all,
Ultimate Band List. Anyone heard of it? Anyway, I decided to look up
DAMABA and the listing was pretty incomplete--only gave the net address.
I'd update it with pertinent info if nobody cares. The reason I'm asking
is that they have entries for a WWW site, FAQ, lyrics, tablature,
digitized music, etc., and I didn't want to list people's names as
sources if they didn't want it broadcast all over the frigging cyberworld.
(I just put netscape (quicker than Mosaic) on my PC and boy am I wasting
time surfing) Anyway, does anybody care, anybody listening (Rick, Ben(s))??

Continually amazed by this WWW stuff...
Brian

 Hello all
Ok so what's the scoop? Originally i heard Bender for the 30th
the latest dates say Lisner. Now i know American has shows over break
(phish NYE run last year) but is george washington doing this show? and
any idea on prices? (basically is it going to be cheaper then the $10
GSW show at the bayou the same night?) still considering going but...

Sorry, my fault Matt. It's Bender Arena.

I doubt it'll be cheaper than $10. In fact it's $20 + service charge,
didn't someone say that a few days ago?

 let us know bye

It's about time for a big trade session again!!

allgood@umich.edu Thu Dec 1 17:26:48 1994

O.K. this goes out to all of the people who have a good supply of
bootlegs and are ready, or willing , to make a kinda big trade!
Shawn-the guy who sent me the 10-26 tape, the blind pig show from last
month kinda wasn't that amazing, wexcept for Get in Line. If you still
want it tell me, I still have your address and I could send it to you.
But, if you are going to be at the NYE show, we could make it real easy.
Also, if any of you, i'm sure there are many are going to be there
too(NYE), let's make it a time to make some could, person to person
trades. I'm even thinking that I am going to go out and buy a bunch of
tapes, tape them and bring a bunch to the CONVENTION That's what it is
going to be I think anyways.
Alright, here is my list as of 12-01-94, hopefully it will be bigger in
two days, I heard some guy on campus has 25 himself, I'll h ave to do
alittle smoozing. O.K. here I go, (i hate doing this):

1992 WTJU Radio Station 1tape
04-05-92	Van Ripers Festival 1tape
09-30-92	FZ	Unplugged 2tapes
11-06-92	hollins college,VA 1tape

10-29-94	Blind Pig, Ann Arbor, MI	2 tapes
?????? Chi Phi, Athens,GA 1 tape
?????? Charlotte,N.C. 1 tape

Phew, that's it. If anyone knows if these dates are wrong or if I didn't
get the full show, tell me, if you want to take the time. Other thatn
that, you probably know that FZ stands for Flood Zone. O.K. let's get
ready for a big trade. Get ahold of me personally on e-mail if you want
to. If you are too busy during finals, I understand. I'm leaving for
the Semester at Seas on January 27th, but like I said, I'll be at the
shows on the 30th and the 31st.

Your tape is mislabelled. 1-30-93. Zollman's. Song is, um, Blue Water, or
Blue Water Babboon Farm, depending.
Actually, maybe it's 10/31. Same place, but I don't have this tape, so I
don't know if it was played. I'd guess not. Go with the first one.

10.31.93 is from the Wetlands, New York, NY not Zollmans Pavillion. It is a
great tape with cameo appearences by Richard Harding on flute, Bluewater is
on 1.31.93 Zollmans--great solo Nancies, and Billies with Boyd. 2 great
tapes

tape updates and the such...

cbuford@liberty.uc.wlu.edu Thu Dec 1 21:05:05 1994

Wow have I dug myself into alot of tape trading...
here's the situation...

1)I will make a rarities mix over x-mas break. After break it will be
treed, run by kieth oliver because I don't have the time...

2)edwin McCain. seeing the response I got from the love of the band, i
will most likely tree the gainsville,fl tapes or opening for dave at
browns island. Haven't listened to the 2nd gainsville tape yet so I don't
know whats best. I will ponder this over break and announce it after
break.

3)shannon worrell. I talked to the guy, and i need to get the tapes and
dub them. The setup forced him to only be able to use one channel, but I
can fix that with my y-jacks. I will tree this also when I get back
because I got a lot of requests for that to.

4)WHERE IS THE DAVE & TIM TREE that started a long time ago.
my parent was/is Matt Currie. Brett Kingswell, did you ever get your tapes?

5)please don't ask for these shows from me until I post the trees. I
loved everyones response, especcialy on e mccain, but I am so mentally
confused right now on who I owe tapes to and what I need to copy etc. and
I need to clear my head.

Re:Info. on 12/30 and 2/14 for the Masses!

abaraff@MACALSTR.EDU Thu Dec 1 22:58:37 1994

Dear People with computers who like Dave Matthews Band,
tickets left to the show on 12/30 at American U.'s Bender Arena. Could
this possibly be? (Does Ticketmaster even give out that type of info?)
The place holds a couple thousand people and tickets have only been on sale
for 8 days. I suppose it is within the realm of possibility, but the
morning they went on sale, I was literally the only one waiting at the
Bender Box Office. Boy did I feel like an idiot getting there half an hour
early to buy tickets to a general admission show and being the only one
there. When the box office finally opened the guy practically had to wake
me up to tell me that I could buy my tickets. I had kind of been hoping to
meet some fellow fans that morning, but oh well. Very strange indeed.
Later,
Aaron.

tapes that you're treeing. By taping it and widely distributing it, you
might be indirectly hurting the bands in question. (I'm not too worried
about the Dead's financial situation; I'm more concerned about GSW.) Just
a little ethical dilemna to consider. The tapes sound like they'd be
killer even without China-Rider or Nightengale.
Thanks,
Mr. Anti-copyright infingement.
