MEET DAVE IN NEW ORLEANS!

wandres@mailhost.tcs.tulane.edu Fri Oct 14 12:34:31 1994

Hey y'all .... Greetings from the Big Easy.....

On Sunday, Oct 16, Dave will be playing in Baton Rouge, about an hour
from New Orleans at The Varsity, and great sized theatre to see a show
in, and the LSU crowd will greet him with loving arms....
\

...............THEN!

Tuesday at 3:30, Dave (and the band?) will be at "The Mushroom", a local
record store in New Orleans to have what they are calling a
"Pre-concert"..... So, I guess before the Tuesday night show at the House
of Blues, Dave will be chillin out with me. cool. far-out. beans.

The flier at The Mushroom said free merchandise, BEvERages, and music
will be given away....

See ya there.... I'll be the one with the beer in my hand and the big
smile on my face.

last chance for immortality

Hey everyone!
you have anything to say, this is your last chance! I have a lot of stuff
that you have written to each other and to the group as a whole, but if you
want to say something to have your name in lights (or at least in newsprint),
be sure to drop me a line and include your full name and the school which you
attend, what year you are, and your favorite something (it doesn't matter
what). Come on people, I know you have something to say, so say it!!

Roi's ass and $1.99

cbuford@liberty.uc.wlu.edu Fri Oct 14 16:34:09 1994

agree, although leroi can really rip some solos out of his ass, sometimes
they sound like they should've been left there.

Very Very funny!!!!!! hehehe

and now for true flamebait material (let's see how many firefighting fish
i catch with this one): $1.99 romances qualifies as one of the worst
peices of music i've ever heard in my life.

I wholly agree, my respect for GSW has gone way downhill.....

"Dave" on the news/welcoming iggy/yours truly, huck finn

NebuIous@aol.com Fri Oct 14 23:56:38 1994

I was watching the news tonight and on some stupid piece about the sharper
image on the 6 pm news on NBC here in NYC, they interviewed a guy who worked
their named "David Matthews"... I thought it was funny.

I don't think it's any secret that GSW are not high (huh huh, he said high)
on my list of bands to see/hear, and thought I haven't even heard $1.99
BlaBla's, I can vouch that I probably wouldn't like it if i DID hear it.

Hee hee. I'm just bitter the Luscious Jackson show sold out.

Also, just want to say a quick hello to liz (or iggy if you prefer), who I
pointed over to this net. Since I'm the one that turned her on to Dave
(sorry Tanen...), she knows her shit. Somewhat. :) So flood her mailbox
with mail... iguanab@aol.com

Current Tour Nancies + Why Typical Sucks

NebuIous@aol.com Sat Oct 15 02:13:49 1994

um...... i'm sick. ahhhhhhhh.

I don't remember well now, but since everyone (including me) has been talking
about dancing nancies and weirdo lines from the intro, I thought I would
point out that at least at Roseland (I dunno about other shows...) Dave did
this weird but at-the-time-really-cool singing thing before the 'could i have
been...'s.

why does that have to do with anything? i feel like i'm walking around inside
a clare post... where's the point where's the point...

oh that was a mean one. it was a joke too. ha. ha.

AND... what happened to typical situation? a few months ago it was always
something to look forward to it, but now... now... no more super cool hits
that took me months to be able to play along with, no more sax solo, no
more... just no more feeling.

i'm not very interesting am i?
oh well.

Late Thoughts on Playing Under Tables

NebuIous@aol.com Sat Oct 15 22:41:51 1994

Since I expected more reviews fro the old guard about the new album, I just
thought I might give a short (well, we'll see how short...) summary of my
opinions.

Well, lemmee just start off, the cover art is asolutely amazing, that shade
of purple is just so cool. I love looking at it. The entire CD looks cool
damnit.

As for song selection, I can't complain that much. I think the only true dud
is Satellite. It just doesn't make sense. I never really liked the song in
the first place, but the great idea of slowing it down to a yawn didn't help
much. Well, it hurt a LOT. There. Rick said Best of is the best song, and
I don't know if i can disagree. I don't think I have as clear an idea of
best and worst, but it is certainly high up there. WWYS is pretty good,
Popper sounds great, but they chopped off the jam, which probably would
bother me less if they had at least kept it long at shows...

Okay, lets just skip satellite, shall we? (clicking sound of my CD remote)

this doesn't mean that _I_ scream whenever he screams at a show like some
dummy-worshiping-people...

Typical is fair, the flute sounds nice, but at the same time I miss the sax
and the hits. And damn it, it just has a wimpy sound to it... Nancies is
really good, i have a love/hate feeling on the vocal effect that is most
noticeable in the very beginning. Ants doesn't really bother me. I kinda
like it. Please don't exclude me from your little discussions because I said
that... :)

Lover could have been better. I mean, there's no way I can think of to
destroy Lover, but the emotion is a bit diluted and where is my harmony??
without any real solos. Of coures, by itself it's simply a very well
constructed song, but without solos that's ALL it is. Warehouse is nice, I
really like that Dave used the intro instead of going straight into it, and
I've always had a fondness for this song, so I'm glad I have a good meaty
electric version on CD.

Pay 4 and #34 are both really good, I like how the album closes on a quiet
note instead of a cheesy Smashing Pumpkins-esque burst of 70's-rock-fury.

I don't think I can give it a grade, but I'd have to conclude by simply
saying it's pretty good (for a dave album, for a random band this would be
damn good). In some ways I wish there had been a drive in drive out, a cry
freedom, a spotlight, but at the same time, putting them on a shiny circle
somehow makes them less mine, and lets every marcy, maria, and marianne (hee
hee) suddenly know the song(s) that once were 'special'...

smiles and assorted happiness.

Unpeggable and totally addictive."

Ants Marching on UTTAD

Rsr3078@aol.com Sat Oct 15 23:18:56 1994

Okay I know this subject has been discussed an endless number of times on
this net, but I just thought that I would add my two cents in even if the cd
was released almost a month ago. First of all everyone seems so upset that
ants is on the cd, but I'm kinda glad. I mean Ants... was my first taste of
Dave. That was the song that two years ago I would listen to over and over
again. Basically for my first couple of weeks of DMB that was the only song
that I even liked!! After hearing Ants I started listening to the whole cd
and BAM now they are just the coolest. Now 70% of the music I listen to is
Dave Matthews! They have changed my music life for the way better, not 2 and
1/2 yrs. ago was I singin along to Garth Brooks.(AHHHHHHHH) So ya see Ants
Marching saved me.
And what about Satellite, Dancing Nancies, etc. why isn't anyone complaining
about those songs being repeated on cds? Oh well, I probably should have
posted this two or three weeks ago.

Setlist 10/15/94

PPLUSCHT@UA1VM.UA.EDU Sun Oct 16 19:22:42 1994

DMB opened for Phish at Oak Mountain Amphitheater in Birmingham,
World (with very nice intro) Dancing Nancies (w/new-to-me intro
rap)Get In Line Jimi Thing (10 1/2 minutes) Cry Freedom Say Goodbye
second set, their was a long break to set up Carter's drums and pull
some more monitors back out on stage. Then Carter and Fishman did a
percussive jam before the remaining members of both bands returned to
the stage for a nice jam. Dave was dancing around during the jam and
tried to make some mouth noises, but his mike wasn't live. He was sans
guitar. Now for the good part, they closed the show with a nice long
version of "The Maker" For a review of the Phish show, check their news
group. Interesting wrap before Dancing Nancies. It went something like
"Sometimes I take a left turn instead of taking a right turn, (repeat),
Sometimes I don't know whether it's day or night, Sometimes I don't know
what I see, Sometimes I take
a left turn instead of taking a right and wonder does it matter" This
is in quotes, but since it's from memory I'll have to double check it
when I get the tape. During Get In Line, Stefan left the stage--maybe
bass problems?? Cry Freedom was well done, but the crowd was rather
inattentive to say the least. When Phish came on the stage, the sound
was considerably louder which is usually the case. Maybe afraid Dave
would upstage them? Oh please let's not start that war!! Dave also did
an acoustic set with everyone present except Carter at a local CD store
in Birmingham earlier in the afternoon. SRO and spillage out the door.
Set list included Dancing Nancies, Cry Freedom, and a beautifully slow
Trippin' Billies among others. I'll get the complete setlist and
possibly the tape in a couple days. Afterwards, Boyd and Dave signed
posters, T-shirts, DAT recorder case, $1, Tylenol travel container and a
acoustic guitar. I asked Boyd if they checked in on Minartes and he
said he doesn't have a computer right now, but he'd really like to look
around the net. My wife played a cruel joke on Dave and got in the end
of line and whispered in his ear that he had an eye booger. He wiped
for it and said you should have seen the one I had last night. She
promises never to do it again. Monkeys, Dolphins and Patrick (The guy
without the gratuitous SIG (cig.))

Hey all,
couple of observations about DMB in Chicago. Some CD store called listen
before you buy or something didn't even have any DMB, and hadn't even heard of
them. Idiots. Right next door at Best Buy, though, they not only had RTT and
UTTAD, but even had a little DMB slot among the M's. Quite amazing. Also had
the new GSW disc. Mixed thoughts IMHO about 1.99 cheap thrrills :) Also know
that there are lots of tix left for the 10/28 show at the Vic Theater. COme

dancing nancies

thought about a tape that I have where Dave introduces the song as
"this song's about the Belgian Army. It's kind of a difficult connection
to make, but I trust you can figure it out. Belgian Army, Belgian Army."

I don't know where or when the tape is from, but it's old (Blue Water,
Spotlight, Halloween, Wathctower, Pay for..., Old One Sweet World and
Granny without the "Love, Baby!" at the end). There are some other great
the evening."
He got in for free. His name is Bill. Bill the fly. And if you think
he's up here because I smell, you're wrong. It's because it a lot brighter
up here than it is down there."

I hope everyone's evening continues on an upward slide. Is it possible
to slide upwards? I guess if you've been sliding downswards for a long
time. Did I mention my cheap lay?"

Anyway, there's more good ones throughout the show, I just can't remember
them right now. I often listen to the tape to get a laugh because the
sound quality leaves a little bit to be desired.

Halloween

@uvmvm.uvm.edu:SATELITE@MUSIC.CC.UGA.EDU Mon Oct 17 12:51:36 1994

Went to the Athens show on Friday and it was incredible. It was
a little disappointing at first because he played nothing new or
different. However, R&R was jamming. There is a short little
article in our school paper reviewing the concert. The writer seems
pretty informed when he mentions that Dave played Get in Line(which
by the way was really good.), but then he says "Six Feet Under, which
hasn't made its way onto an album, was by far the highlight of the
night." I guess he has not heard the album and has not realized
Six Feet Under is R&R. Oh well, if anybody has a copy of that
concert and wants to trade, I would love to. Also is anyone
taping the Nashville show on Thursday. I am going and would love
a copy. Please write me back
tape from a while back when Dave calls Halloween, "Sometimes I
Feel Like a Nut Sometimes I Don't" Pretty Cool.

I know this is getting long, but one last thing. I have a
tape from a while back when Dave calls Halloween, "Sometimes I
Feel Like a Nut Sometimes I Don't" Pretty Cool.
 Geoffrey

this is not what dave titles the song.
this is a common dave phrase.. davetalk... babble...
usually i've only heard it sung during the intro to two step and this

hugs and charleston chews...

the dave matthews band is 'peggable.' cool.

STU_RCTHOMPS@VAX1.ACS.JMU.EDU Mon Oct 17 15:44:11 1994

was released almost a month ago.
Oh well, I probably should have
posted this two or three weeks ago.

i really wish rem had picked up on this motive and put so. central rain
on their first two cd's. or my first taste of phish was fee, so if that
were on consecutive cd's i'd be even happier.

people _are_ complaining about satellite being repeated, but not as much
because it wasn't played at 4,235,138 consecutive shows.

and i really wouldn't consider dancing nancies a repeat because 1) it
simply isn't the same song, 2)the recently ep is much harder to come
by than remember two things.

personally, i see r2t and recently being resurrected in about 2 years in
the form of a re-release which includes both on a single cd (yea, _another_
ants marching.........when it happens i'm going to show up at dave shows
wearing my modern english t-shirt :)

Dave in Colorado

jjthomps@teton.Mines.Colorado.EDU Mon Oct 17 15:48:50 1994

I know a secret...

DMB will return to the hills...

November 17, 18, 19 at the Fox in Boulder.

Earlier in the evening of the 19th, they will play at the KBCO Rock and
Roll Auction at the Paramount Theatre.

Heard in on the radio(actually, called the station after they played a DMB
song to ask if they knew anything - just a shot in the dark - nice results)
So it has to be true, right? Even if it isn't on the hotline( of course
the hotline is still anouncing the CD release shows?)

Just passing the info (& the spoons) to friends,
Jason

help?

STU_RCTHOMPS@VAX1.ACS.JMU.EDU Mon Oct 17 16:19:31 1994

after spending a rather secluded weekend in harrisonburg(with topics of
conversation running from how granite got on top of a mountain to a yellow
blanket named alice), i got back to my e-mail and found 27 new messages
(i'm digestified, so for those of you who aren't, that translates into more
like 60 new messages). now, 27 new messages aren't that hard to process,
but when it takes about 15 seconds a file to send out assorted lyrics and
answered questions, your talkin' up to a minute and a half per request.
roughly two thirds of my mail is requests, meaning i was in this lab for
about 35 minutes before i could even read actual mail (oh, the woes and
jeff, you can tell wendy that i'm whining again...:).

anyway, what i'd like to do, is have someone help me disseminate the faq
until we get a working, automated archive. you don't need to worry about
re-writing it or anything, unless you really think i did a terrible job
at it. just take over the dissemination (what a great word) aspect. i
don't really care how you get it out, just get it out. i honestly don't
have time for it. i will continue to process lyrics file requests, and
i will still administrate (?) the faq, meaning if someone has something to
add or change, that person can talk to me, and whoever takes over can just
forward related mail to me.

i'd kind of prefer someone who'd not already doing a file of some sort,
because the faq is one of the more sought after files, and i'd like a
person to be able to concentrate on just it (and if you have unix, you're
the shit. i'll get alex to give you a free tube of toothpaste, and ben
to give you a free jar of mayo, along with the faq).

anyone interested?

Dewey...7/28/94

PARISIGRE@urvax.urich.edu Mon Oct 17 17:01:30 1994

For Troy who asked for the 7/28/94 Bottle and Cork show or anyone else
interested, I was at this particular show- the last time I'll ever see
Dave for five bucks (and free hot wings to boot!)- and I tried to boot it
but Jeff was not letting anyone tape the show- something about the place
being so small and having sub-par equipment and he didn't want any bad
boots getting around at this point...so, I don't think there are any copies
of this show, though I'd love to have one because it was killer.

hysterical...I would love to trade for a copy of that show...later

Guys,

Granny (as sung on 9/28/93 at the Flood Zone)

Hello, how are you doing today
I hope I find you feeling healthy
So glad our paths crossed this time today
On our way into the night
I say it's love that keeps me here
Turn me in, turn me down and I say
baby I love you up and down and inside out
I say love when I approach and tears they fall like rain
You tell me baby your hearts into a thousand pieces dies

Stop only the old and wise, with clouded eyes,
You can't see what I can't
I blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next good thing that comes my way

So here we are all of us stand around
We're leaning heavy on each other
Always wonder hey what is it lies behind
Worried eyes of one another
I believe it's love so give it up turn it out share it wear it
Baby I love you I love you up and down and inside out
Love I when I apppoach my tears they fall like rain
You tell me baby your heart into a thousand peices dashed

Stop only the old and wise, with clouded eyes
You can't see what i can't hide
Blindly throw my faith into the face
Of the next pretty girl that comes my way

I say it's love so there we go turn me up turne me down
Silly baby I love you so it makes me crazy
I say love I come to you tears they fall tears they fall
Silly baby your heart's into a thousand pieces dashed

Let me clarify myself....

cbuford@liberty.uc.wlu.edu Tue Oct 18 01:04:17 1994

I apoligize for my somewhat unclear massage earlier..
here is what I meant...
The three concerts I mentioned at the Horse Center have already happened
being 1)Phish/dave 2)Connells 3) Widespread Panic.
The fourth, which is Nov 9 is Dave/Rusted Root only and has yet to happen..
Tickets go on sale here this friday the 21rst and I am assuming at other
places also. Right now I don't know the number offhand, but tix are sold
here at Night Owl Music on a cash only basis as far as I know. I really
don't know what his policy is on ticket holding/reserving/charging etc.
You could also try calling the Va Horse Center.
If I get off my butt, I'll post the numbers later, but I have a midterm I
am supposed to be studying for....

Boofy, you're always sooo up on things. Yes, we students and fans in
Lexington are glad to here of the long-awaited return of Dave and his
band of merry men. The horse center will never be like the old Zollman's
blasts (i.e. no, the beer wont be free and flowing about as fast as
Buffalo Creek did when everyone was peein' in it), but I think the DMB
and Rusted Root will make that big ole collesium bearable. Why don't we
try to fill it up boys and girls? That's all I got to say. Yippppeeee!!!

Hey? If we can all spoon on the net, I bet we can give zurbits (sp??) to
each other...so here's a big loud one for you Boof and friends...

P.S. Remember how cold it was...we'd all huddle by the fires.

Does the Lexington Horse Center allow people to tape? If so how early must
you get there? Can you use a standard tape deck, or are DAT's the medium
of choice. I have many a Dave tape, but none from shows I have been at,
soon this will change!

I managed to make it to the album release party at the Cross Roads I while

cheese

S4BN@MUSIC.TRANSY.EDU Tue Oct 18 02:22:00 1994

Recently I've read comments criticizing Dave for his repetitive use of
certain phrases during DMB live shows, namely those phrases regarding
cheese. It would be wholly dishonest for me to defend Dave by saying
that such accusations are preposterous, for, indeed, I myself caught the
8/11/94 show in Nashville where Dave proclaimed "There are hundreds of
thousands of things you can eat that are not cheese." It is true that
the use and reuse of such phrases lessen the spontaneity factor and thus
their emotional impact, however I am quite sure that this is of little
concern to Dave. You see, I happen to know what only the hardcore
members of the DMB community are aware of, for I am the owner of *Dave
It tells of how Dave, from his humble upbringing as a carpenter's son,
rose to relative fame, far before his rock and roll days, as a champion
of culinary rights and a messenger to all the peoples of the world of
the evils inherent with eating cheese. It has been said that you can
take the dog out of the fight but you can't take the fight out of the
dog. Although Dave's cheese-bashing dogma is not so popular now as once
it was, should we condemn this brilliant man for simply promoting his
honest opinion rather than pandering to the whims of the masses. In
fact, we should thank him for at least attempting to lead us away from
our impending cheese-ridden doom. So allow me to be the first. Thank
you Dave. Thank you for being a caring man in a cruel, cruel world.

 	After reading the plethora of "could I have been's . . " I
thought about a tape that I have where Dave introduces the song as
"this song's about the Belgian Army.

There are some other great
3~ (I guess there is a flowered lai on his mike stand)
"Someone put this here and I told them it was my cheap lay for
 the evening."

"For those of you that can see, there's a fly up here with me.
He got in for free. His name is Bill. Bill the fly. And if you think
he's up here because I smell, you're wrong. It's because it a lot brighter
up here than it is down there."

I am pretty sure that this show was at TRAX some time in 92 or 93. I
remember being at one of the Tuesday night shows where he went off like that.

New stuff

jtv2j@henson.cs.virginia.edu Wed Oct 19 00:38:25 1994

The lyrics file and the lyrics to the 2 full length album are
available in hypertext as well as the single file, now.

I was thinking of offering a tutorial on how to access all this stuff
for anyone down here at UVa who is interested in being able to access
all this stuff (The World Wide Web). It would probably take about 5
to 10 minutes for one to learn, and would probably be the most useful
thing you learn this year.

It took my grandmother only 10 minutes, and she'd never touched a
computer before in her life P-)

Chicago DMB tix for sale

Hey now,

I know this show probably isn't sold out yet, but I've got a pair of
tix for the 10/28 show at the Vic Theatre in Chicago with Rusted Root
for my deaf father at his first ND pep rally). Anyways, I'd rather
not eat these tickets, so if anyone can help me get rid of 'em (nobody
else here can go since it's parents weekend here), then it'd be
$9 apiece, or $16 for the pair (I'm feelin' nice). Please help
me out...I REALLY want to go, but it's not lookin' feasible at
this point. Email me directly BEFORE SATURDAY please if you can help.

Thanks, and see y'all at the Phish show at UVa next week!

Regards,

belgian army

Phoebe.T.Manchester@dartvax.dartmouth.edu Wed Oct 19 09:56:05 1994

 	After reading the plethora of "could I have been's . . " I
thought about a tape that I have where Dave introduces the song as
"this song's about the Belgian Army.

There are some other great
3~ (I guess there is a flowered lai on his mike stand)
"Someone put this here and I told them it was my cheap lay for
 the evening."

"For those of you that can see, there's a fly up here with me.
He got in for free. His name is Bill. Bill the fly. And if you think
he's up here because I smell, you're wrong. It's because it a lot brighter
up here than it is down there."

I am pretty sure that this show was at TRAX some time in 92 or 93. I
remember being at one of the Tuesday night shows where he went off like that.
--- end of quoted material ---

yeah, i've got a tape of this show, it's 1/20/93 at either trax or floodzone,

For the record... NO! Look at the idiots on Rec.music.phish.

The idiots in rec.music.phish were around in the phish.net before
rec.music.phish. Until the existance of r.m.p, it was impossible to
keep up with the important information, because it was hard to find
the 1 line worth reading in the 600 line digest.

An alternative to a newsgroup could be a split in the list, much like
dead-heads, dead-flames, etc. Leave minarets for mass discussion
while having a moderated satellite list for tour date info, cd
release, etc, and a moderated billies list for tape trading :-).

I'd even volunteer my services as moderator for both lists, and my
machine as the home for the lists themselves.

responded, I think there are like five more that I haven't gotten to yet.
I'm sorry I couldn't keep it open longer, but I don't want to over commit
myself and then make you wait for months for your tape.

Don't worry if you missed this one, I'm SURE others on minarets are just
about to follow suit and lend a helping hand to the tapeless amongst us.

I think it's time to start campaigning for a newsgroup. 30-40 messages a
day via mail eats mucho bandwidth, and is a big pain when it comes to
filtering through the noise to get signal. Anyone else agree?

Well, I don't..

1 - If the mail volume is too much for anyone, there is a possibility of
digestifying the list, into approximately one digest per day. I prefer to
get each individual message, and don't mind the volume, but that's me.

2 - It takes a lot of time and effort to create a rec.music newsgroup. It
would definitely be plausable, but there would probably be an alt group
created first for several months, to show the volume, and alt groups are
less prolific as many sites do not receive them.

3 - Regarding the volume, I think linking the list to a newsgroup would
be.. umm.. bad. The list has undergone tremendous growth recently, and is
still trying to deal with it I think. Maybe once things have settled down a
bit.. But if any of you are on the BT list, the messages on that have been
total crap the past several weeks I think. I am actually getting less
interested in the band because of the complete hogwash that's been
posted/mailed to it (most of it through the newsgroup I believe). I really
don't want to sound like some exclusionary elitist, but let's face it, with a
mailing list you're going to get the people who REALLY are interested in and
want to participate in discussion about the band. There won't be the posts
of "I agree" and you won't be attracting every random tom dick and jane who
wonders what alt.music.dmb is. I know it sounds exclusionary, but I think
it's needed. I'm a bloody business major. We study stuff like this..
product focus and target market segments and all that crap. :)

ranting, raving, and really glad I got more than 1.5 hours of sleep,

Colorado Info

jjthomps@teton.Mines.Colorado.EDU Wed Oct 19 17:21:59 1994

A couple of useful byte for colorado folk, (and those making the sojourn to
see the shows)

1) The shows are now confirmed, tix on sale Fri. 10/21 at 10a.m. for around
13 bucks.

2)The dates are 11/17, 11/18, 11/19 (Thur. Fri. Sat)

3) THE THURSDAY SHOW IS ALL AGES!! -it is good to see bands paying
attention to the audience. (I used to hate being 19 and 20)

4) Saturday, they will also play the KBCO Rock auction at the Paramount
Theatre. This is all ages too, I'm pretty sure. I know they will play
early and probably won't have a very long set either, but a little dave is
better than a punch in the eye.

5) the tape offer is OVER, FINISHED, CAPUT, FINITO, EL FIN - whatever
language you speak - the offer is no more, please stop sending me requests,
I have recieved about 5 more since I first cancelled the offer - and now I
don't have the heart to turn them down. This brings the grand total up to
about 27 people. This isn't a tree - it is more like a shrub, I am the
only root. That way the quality that people get is very low generation.
The quality of the original is good, but not spectacular enough for me to
seed a tree with.

6) Has anyone else evey noticed how you can fit the word granny in most DMB
song titles - i.e.

actually it is a little gross, but it gave me a chuckle...

Take care, share the chuckles, spare the nuckles,
Jason

said info. I'll probably make it the News Years Show at the Richmond
Marriott. So all you newbies who've been asking for help getting started
on your DMB tape collection, here's your chance- I haven't seen this show on
too many tape lists.

Shannon Worrell

JPETERS@CENTER.COLGATE.EDU Wed Oct 19 23:59:29 1994

heard it or of it yet. I'm refering to "Three Wishes" by Shannon Worrell. As
I understand it, Shannon performed at the UTTAD release party last month and
has some roots within DMB, as I will elaborate. How's this for a list of guest
artists and so on that appear on her album?:  Dave Matthews-backing vocals;
Leroi Moore-sax; Tim Reynolds-mandolin, electric guitar, slide guitar; Kristin
Asbury-backing vocals;and John Alagia-backing voclas, piano, electric guitar,
(and he's the producer). With that crew I hope I've got a few people
interested.
well from start to finish. Shannon has a powerful voice with a great range and
her fair share of emotion. Dave's backing vocals are on two tracks and they're
absolutely beautiful. Check it out. I'm not sure how widely distributed the

hope you enjoy.......

Greenie in search of boots

Dear Everyone,
Hi! I'm just getting started on minarets and this is my first post. I've
had r2t for about a year and didn't think I would see it bettered. But lo
and behold, I pick up UTTAD and am in love again. Now I see all the live
songs I'm missing. Could anyone out there pleeease let me know if they
feel like sending me some tapes. I'm especially interested in something
with 'Cry Freedom' which I've heard so much about. I only have a few
Phish and Flecktones tapes, but will send tapes, money, or pictures of
myself naked. You name it. Thanks a lot in advance.
