The lost DMB song "#40" made somewhat of a comeback Thursday night when a full verse of the song was performed as an intro into "The Long Black Veil." Fans wielding "#40" signs in the audience are credited for the song's playing Thursday night in Burgettstown, Penn. The fourtieth song written by Dave Matthews, written on last night's setlist as "You Can Do It (#40)," was performed by DMB less than a half-dozen times back in April-May of 1995. "#40" disappeared for more than three and a half years, a longer disappearance than that of any currently-played song in the band's catalogue of tunes, before returning in the form of a "Lie In Our Graves" intro back in December 1998. (sic) The song has been "teased" several times by both DMB and Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds over the past six months; Thursday night's playing marked the first time words had been placed to the song since last December. (sic)
