Song History
"When the World Ends" was to be the third single from Everyday, but it was replaced by the album's title track after the September 11th terrorist attacks. A video was filmed for the song but never saw release.

The song is perhaps most well known for its abrupt ending, ironically during the line, "We'll just be begi[nning]." On the 2003 Dave and Tim tour, the song featured an extended outro in lieu of this abrupt cutoff.

Dave drew inspiration for this song's lyrics from the song "The Dance" by Code Magenta, LeRoi's side project, whose lyrics repeat the phrase "When the world ends."
