Song History
This song is properly called "Jack of Diamonds," but Tex Ritter's early-1930s version, which is the earliest and most well-known recording, is called "Rye Whiskey."

Dave began performing this song shortly before he played at Pete Seeger's 90th birthday party in New York. Dave's rendition of the song is modeled after Seeger's 1954 recording, which is entitled "Whiskey, Rye Whiskey."

As this is a traditional song, there are several different titles and many variations in the song itself.

We have included the lyrics to Seeger's version of the song as the main lyrics.
