Ann Marie Simpson (formerly Ann Marie Calhoun) grew up in Gordonsville, Virginia, outside of Charlottesville. She first played with DMB during the
Stand Up sessions, where she contributed to the string section on three tracks. She was married to Dave's friend and Rockbridge Guitar Company founder Brian Calhoun until 2013 and is currently married to Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger.
