Dave Matthews Band
During Boyd's short prelude to Bartender, Dave says, "I send this one respectfully out to all the men and women who uhh, who have so bravely gone across the ocean to defend our... to defend us... look after us all. Brave volunteers, soldiers, those men and women and everybody who's lost their lives, we'll send this song to them." Released as Live Trax Vol. 8 on March 20, 2007. Here is a rundown of the show from Managament's perspective:08.07.2004 Alpine Valley Music Theatre, East Troy, WI was the first night in a two night stand at one of DMB's most-traveled-to summer tour stops. The Alpine Valley show was a near perfect setlist from the show opener greeting, Hello Again to the encore featuring Typical Situation followed by Warehouse. New song Sugar Will was played as a long jam and another song making its debut that summer, Joyride, was also featured on the setlist. A special highlight of the Alpine night one Live Trax recording is Crazy Easy, never before released live! A true surprise of the show included Super Freak, DMB's tribute to the late great Rick James, which sent the crowd into a frenzy! Other noteworthy parts of the show include Dave singing parts of #36 on the outro of Everyday, the solemnly beautiful I'll Back You Up and Bartender, which was dedicated to the troops working hard to keep the world safe for us.

DMBand.com Road Page Notes
We all had a great time at Alpine Valley tonight. The place was overflowing with energy. In memory of the passing of Rick James, the band jammed to James' Super Freak as the segue between So Much To Say and Too Much. It was a truely great DMB moment. Can't wait to get back here tomorrow night! -- The DMB Crew Saturday, August 7 11:43 PM CDT
