Tickets were distributed via a lottery system with pre-orders of the Crash album sold at the Plan 9 Records locations in Charlottesville and Richmond, and they were valid for either this show or the earlier one at Max (the two venues shared a building). The shows were billed as "A Special Evening with Dave Matthews Band and Friends"; however, the lineup comprised only Dave, Boyd, Stefan, and Tim.
