Angel sounds like it might have evolved from an intro Dave has done frequently to Jimi Thing. It debuted on 3.19.01 during a Dave solo radio promotional tour for Everyday. It was played most stops on the 2001 Summer Tour with The Lovely Ladies contributing a gospel choir style backing vocal to the main song, then starting 6.4.01 they lead an extended jam where they introduced the band members.

DMB subsequently played a regular-length Angel three times early on the 2003 Summer Tour, and the songs hasn't been played or referenced since.
