The melody is that of an older British drinking song, "To Anacreon in Heaven." The song was adopted as the United States' national anthem in 1931. There are actually four stanzas; however, only the first is usually sung.Stefan has been known to interpolate the national anthem into his bass solos preceding All Along the Watchtower, particularly on Independence Day and September 11th. For these versions, we list it as a separate song when it comprises his entire solo and/or when he plays the entire song. Otherwise, we list it as an interpolation.Boyd has also played the song to open a few tennis matches. 07.15.03 live debut 10 Known Plays over 10 years 4,927 Days Since last fully played (12.18.12) 20:33 total song time Stats By Show Artist ArtistFirst ShowLast ShowAvg LengthPlay Count% Total Plays% Total ShowsDave Matthews Band7/15/200312/18/20122:25880.0%0.6%Boyd Tinsley12/7/20063/28/20071:11220.0%100.0% Plays By Year Slot Count By Year Song Length Over Time Slots and Types Opener1 (10.0%)Midset3 (30.0%)Closer4 (40.0%)Encore2 (20.0%)partial1Longest Full Versions # LengthDateLocation13:519/11/2003Hershey, PA23:459/24/2003New York, NY32:4112/18/2012Baltimore, MD42:209/8/2012Irvine, CA52:049/12/2012Hollywood, CA61:517/6/2012East Troy, WI71:457/3/2012Corfu, NY81:1112/7/2006Norfolk, VAShortest Full Versions # LengthDateLocation11:1112/7/2006Norfolk, VA21:457/3/2012Corfu, NY31:517/6/2012East Troy, WI42:049/12/2012Hollywood, CA52:209/8/2012Irvine, CALiberated 1 Time #Missing SinceDate LiberatedDays SinceShows Since19.24.037.3.123205540More Liberations »Top Segues #Song Count1» All Along the Watchtower72» Don't Drink the Water1
