Jagger / Richards

Live Collaboration

Dave sings backup on this song on the Rolling Stones' 1998 album No Security. Dave performed this song with the Stones five times on their 1998 tour of Europe, and the version on this record is taken from the July 5 performance.

Dave has recounted that he was in the bathtub in Amsterdam when he got a call from Mick Jagger about guesting with them on this song, which he had never heard before. He pretended that he knew the song and then had to find a copy of the Black and Blue album to learn it. On the first night, the Teleprompter didn't advance, so it just said "Memory Motel" for the duration of the song.
