[davespeak]

So anyway we just finished up this album that we've been working on -- see, I'm old -- this CD
that, that uh, we've been working on. And uh, in between, in between sessions I was walking. I was
walking around, looking for someplace -- I can't remember, I think it was a museum, or it was a, or
a bookstore, or a deli. I don't remember what I was looking for. I was looking for something ?? So I, I
saw this girl and she looked like she was from New York.

So I walked up to her and I said, and I said to her, I said um, could you tell me how to get to
whatever it was, I can't remember.

[someone from crowd yells, "Sesame Street!"]

Exactly. Sesame Street.

Anyway, she said, uh, she said go down there, take a left, take a right, anyway, she gave me
whatever she gave me. And I turned around and I was walking away. As I was walking away, I
thought to myself, I said, damn she was

[vocals]

so fine.

So I turned around, and I walked back
but she was gone.
I didn't even get her name.
I didn't even get her number.
I didn't even ask her if she'd like to come out sometime
and drink a beer.
Or have a cup of coffee or something like people
do in New York City.

She wasn't all Vogue or all Cosmopolitan magazine-looking. She was more like a raindrop. She was
tiny, with tiny little legs, and tiny little arms and a tiny little tummy and big old ... (pause) ... eyes.

[singing]

And I thought
I can't seem to get her out of my mind
her voice keeps echoing
through my head
it echo
echo, echo, echo, echo, echo, echo
and I feel I won't ever see her again
nor will she see me
and I wonder is she thinking of me
is she thinking away
??
or is she turned and tied up
the weight on my head
oh is she
is she torn up the way she's torn me
completely
I stand here where we met
by the bus stop
by the garbage can
and wonder
oh with the horns
and with the dirt
will she ever come back in search of me too
your lips
your lips
your lips
your lips
you're a weight on me
I won't leave oh leave you
the weight on my head
you're a weight around me
like I've never had
a stranger
never
?? here
how can you hold me so
when you don't even know who I am
waiting here
you got me
all tied up
you got me
walled in imprisoned by you
oh strange, strange, stranger
do you think of me
do you think of me
do you think of me or
or am I ??
have I disappeared like the summer's day
rain on my head
and I've got you pounding
pounding through my head
I know you did
here I am
God I will dream
I will dream
that we
that we are here
and now I hold you
I'll hold you if I get the chance
so tight
your hands will burst open

?? gone and
do you remember me
or am I like a cigarette burned down
am I like a pair of shoes worn out
or am I like a ??
so much
leave 'em
leave me
goodbye
