Description
At the start of the 20th century, New Orleans was a bustling river town with a new theatre to entertain it's residents, Loew's State Theatre. In the late 1980's, the Brunet Company assumed operation of the theatre, & returned the building to a single auditorium as part of its restoration. Adjoining commercial spaces were remodeled & connected to the theatre's lobbies, creating a large entertainment complex. Today, as the State Palace Theatre, this historical venue hosts movies, dances, & concerts.
The flooding after Hurricane Katrina caused the theatre to close indefinitely. It's unknown whether or not it will open back up.
